Genetic Roulette: The Gamble of our lives premiered in the Wilmette public library. Based on Jeffrey Smith's book, Seeds of deception, the movie makes people aware of the harmful effects of genetically modified foods. Followed by an interactive session by Joan Levin from the John Hopkin's University, the programme mainly focussed on the steps that can be taken to avoid GMO's to ensure the protection of one's family. GMO's have become popular after the 1970's but very recently it has led to various health issues by causing allergies, asthma and other discomforts which compel us to search for other alternatives.
