Monsanto Threatens to Sue Vermont Over Labeling Law

With 90% of Americans asking for GE food labeling, about 20 states are considering labeling legislations but they face stiff oppositions from the federal government, through agencies like the FDA. To make it more daunting for the states, Monsanto is threatening a law suit. The biotech companies, who are accustomed to legal suits, are using a new low when a Monsanto representative threatened to sue Vermont if they dared to pass the labeling bill. The bill seeks to make it mandatory for GE foods to be labeled.
