More than 80 percent of corn grown in the United States has been genetically modified. A new report, "GMO Myths and Truths," published online on June 17, challenges these claims. The report presents a large body of peer-reviewed scientific and other authoritative evidence of GMO health risks and the environment posed by genetically modified crops and organisms (GMOs). One of the report's authors is Dr Michael Antoniou of King's College London School of Medicine in the UK, who warns of GMO health risks in human food and animal feed. Another author of the report is Dr John Fagan, a former genetic engineer, who founded a GMO testing company after discovering negative effects of GMO.
