In a two-hour presentation by Don Huber, Emeritus Professor of Plant Pathology at Pardue University during the Acres USA conference, a mind-boggling exposé was made on the dangers of glyphosate on the environment, plants and animals. Based on papers that he and other scientists like Robert Kremer, microbiologist with the USDA's Agricultural Research Service, have published, more than 40 plant diseases have been linked to glyphosate use including Fusarium which have increased by 500% and sudden death syndrome in soy bean fields. Glyphosate used on soils have a long-term effect of more than 10 years. The herbicides have been linked to the growing rate of miscarriages in cows and pigs, "glyphosate in animal feed can cause a microbial imbalance and chronic botulism," Huber said. GMOs are the likely cause of the increase in inflammatory bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, food allergies, autism, cancers, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, expressing the health
threat on our children, Huber said "we are willing to sacrifice our children and jeopardize future generations based on failed promises and flawed science just to benefit the 'bottom line' of a commercial enterprise."
